birth control vs pregnancy

i started birth control for the first time last month on the 5th day that my cycle started. i had unprotected sex the first 7days and it\'s now 2days before my period is due and i have a high temperature that has started 3days now and only gets worst, i am dehydrated to that max my breasts are sore but not sore enough for sore nipples and headaches plus increased hunger and stabbing cramps in my pelvic area. could this be pregnancy or birth control side effects?
