I was on the iud about 9 months ago is it still possible that the medicine is still inside me even after that long period of time? I did had sex past the month but didnt come up pregnant. But now this month i had a really short an early period an it was that heavy or even smell like a period i never had that happen 2 me. Ok jan. 30 2011 i had unprotected sex an then that thursday feb 3 my period came on then went off that saturday feb 5. Took a test that week it was negative is it still a chance that i am an do i need to wait another week or so to take another test.
wifeywilson20, It is very unlikely that the IUD can still affect you now. If you menstruate regularly, the chances are very very good that you are also ovulating regularly.
There is only a 7 day window where sex can make you pregnant every cycle. Even if you do have sex during those days, there is only a 30% chance that you will get pregnant.
If you had unprotected sex Jan 30, the bleeding on Feb 3 does not have anything to do with pregnancy. Nothing can happen in 4 days. Even if the sperm met the egg immediately and managed to fertilize it, it was still floating down your fallopian tubes after 4 days.
It probably felt and smelled different because it was not a normal menstruation but bleeding.
If you used an early detection test kit, it should show positive by now. You can wait another week and test again to double check.
i have a question .. i take cytotec vaginaly and oraly .. i take it 2pm i started bleding 10pm then stop 4 2days .. then i take pt and then the ans is positive .. what should i do ? i dont wnt this prgnancy .. nedd ur help
To answer your question: After an abortion (or a miscarriage for that matter), you can still test positive on a pregnancy test for a few weeks. It takes your system a while to realize that you are no longer pregnant and get rid of the pregnancy hormones.
If you have any doubts about what is happening, only a doctor can help you.
I hope you have now chosen a better form of birth control for the future.
