Hi Everyone,

A couple years ago I was on the pill, and I had sexual side effects (I was not able to orgasm on either pill and have no difficulty while off the pill). I started with yasmin then due to this problem switched to loestrin (the doc said it had the lowest estrogen and highest testosterone level) it helped a little bit (sex felt better) but didn't fix the problem. So I was done with the pill.

I was thinking of mini pill or IUD (as they don't contain estrogen) would you recommend these? I had no side effects on the pill other than not being able to orgasm.

My partner and I want a backup method to our condom use (we cannot use diaphgrams or sponges b/c he's allergic to spermicide).

Recommendations? Thanks!

If you keep a dose of Plan B in your medicine cabinet where you can find it immediately should a condom fail, condom use can be perfectly safe.

Good condom use techniques can aso help considerably. Inspect the condom after sex for tearing, an he should stop when he feels the condom tighten around his head. That is a sure sign it is going to fail and according to Durex's research almost always happen before failure.

Other than this, all I can suggest is trying the other types of pills. Every woman reacts differently, and your side effects can even differ from time to time, even if you go back on the same pill that worked for you previously.

Best of luck!
