I have been taking the birth control azurette, generic for mircette going on two months. My period is 15 days late, yesterday I had a little bit of brown discharge, but nothing today. I honestly haven't been taking the pills like I should, which leads me to wonder, could I be pregnant? I took a test this morning and it came back negative. I have had no symptoms of my period coming. No stress, what could be happening?

The pill schedule is very strict and precise. If you've read your birth control instructions they stress the fact to take it everyday around the same time. If you haven't been doing that (which you indirectly stated) then this makes the pill less effective then usual. While some discharge is common during the first uses of birth control, it's strange that it only occurred once and went away. It's a good sign that your home pregnancy test was negative, however they MAY be inaccurate and I would take another in a few days and see what the results are. Only you can fully understand the situation that occurred. You did not specify whether or not other contraceptives were used and other factors that may affect your chance of pregnancy as well as symptoms of pregnancy. The best thing to do would be to consult your doctor or ob/gyn. Best of luck.
