Q: Birth control pills usage

so im 17, and its been almost a month since I started taking Yaz, I heard somewhere that I have to wait a month for the pills to work, however i've also read that if u start taking it the first day of your period you're instantly protecteed sooo im a lil bit confused :S I always use condoms AND my bf withdraws, however I just want to be sure of how the pills work, ty:)

That is true. If you started taking the pill on the first day of your period, you are protected immediately. If you begin taking it on any other day, it will take seven days before the birth control is effective. So, you are protected.

when i started the pill i was told i had to wait ten days before they would start working and my boyfriend and i used condoms every time for the first month, after that we stopped using condoms and i had no problems. you are using condoms and are on the pill so i am very very sure you don't need to worry. don't get the wrong idea, i am NOT saying you should stop using condoms, we have actually started using them again anyway, i am just saying that you are very well protected.
