Q: Birth Control-Missed period

I had a miscarriage in January, and after that I started my first period since then. On the very first day of my period, I took my birth control as instructed, but I stopped taking it after 1 week because I constantly threw up from it. About 4 days after that, I started bleeding pretty light for about 3-5 days. (Even though this has never happened with other BC I've stopped taking) I was due for my period to start on Friday, and it's now almost Wednesday. I have been having cramps for an entire week, but no period. I am confused about the whole situation. Have I missed my period from spotting/bleeding early on? Or because I stopped taking the pill? I was only on it for a week, so I don't know if that's long enough to even have an effect. Thanks for all your help!

Bleeding lightly for 3-5 days after stopping birth control early is completely normal. That is just withdrawal bleeding. Your period is most likely just late due to all of the irregularities lately (the miscarriage, the pill starting and stopping, etc).

Have you been having unprotected sex? If so, you might be pregnant. If not, I wouldn't worry about it too much. Your period will start to regulate itself again soon.
