I've been on microgestin fe 1/20 for two months now, and before this I was on Orthotricyclen lo for a little over a month. Each month I've had breakthrough bleeding. I know this is normal while starting a new pill, but since I'm bleeding during the active pills does that mean I'm ovulating and the birth control isn't working? Is this something I can expect to stop? Am I at risk for getting pregnant?

You're still protected when you have breakthrough bleeding and you don't ovulate at all while taking birht control pills. Smile

It should stop within the next month. If it doesn't, then you should go back to your provider and explain the side effect-- you may need a different pill.
