I have been on birth control for 5 months now. If I have unprotected sex, can I get pregnant?

what do you mean by properly? I take it everyday but not at the same time, close to the same time.

By "properly" I mean taking the pills every day at the same time or close to same time. You are obviously taking the pills properly.

Nope, it doesn't matter.

When birth control pills first came out they had a high amount of hormones. Later they learned that you don't need as high dose of hormones to prevent ovulation. They still have the difference because people need different doses-- not in terms of preventing pregnancy, but for various side effects.

Most people are protected after the first week of taking their pills properly, after five months you are plenty safe. If just using pills makes you nervous, then double up with another method of birth control.

Relax. Smile
