I have been on a low dose hormone pill for over a year now. This past month I have had multiple head aches (10-15), some cramping throughout the whole month, been very tired, sleeping in the middle of the day or just can't keep my eyes open during class, going to bed very early, eating a lot more, urinating more than usual, my period started on time but it only lasted 2 days and now I get just a little bit of spotting for about 2 days then nothing. I have had some serious mood swings this whole month but more so now within the last week before starting my period. Going from happy and laughing to crying in less than 20 minutes or crying to no reason at all. i have gained at lest 5 pounds this month. I have had some lower back pain all day some days or all night the others.

I am getting a little worried because this is very different from any other month. does anyone know whats going on?

When you say LOW DOSE, how low are we talking here? I was on the lowest dose pill they manufacture and STILL had crazy side effects like that. The first few months on them, I seemed fine - a little emotional maybe, and broke out more, but the REAL killer effects didn't start until I was on them for 5 to 7 months. I ended up tossing the pills and getting a tubal. I have no desire for kids ever so I said why not

Shock, you should speak with your doctor if you think you are developing negative side effects to your birth control pills. It's not a big deal, the hormones are just effecting you a little differently.

They will most likely switch you to a different combination pill, or they could end up suggesting the mini pill which is recommended for women who are sensitive to estrogen found in combination pills.
