Me and my boyfriend have had sex several times in the past 2-3 weeks. I was on antibiotics most of the times for a UTI. I am on birth control but I know antibiotics can lower the efficacy of the pill.

I have not been feeling like myself for the past week. Really tired and restless, nauseous, very sore boobs, frequent trips to the bathroom.....etc. I have now put two and two together. However, I thought I was just being paranoid. BUT Today when I went to the bathroom I noticed a light pink/brownish color on my underwear. Could this be implantation bleeding? My period is supposed to come on Friday. I have heard implantation can come about a week to a few days before the actual period is due...

Is it too soon for me to take a test?

Boy hun.. thats my story on getting prego, birth control and antibiotics. From what I understand when you are on birth control and taking antibiotics, you can spontaniously ovulate. Most women ovulate 14 days before their next period but when you are taking a contraceptive you don't ovulate at all, so when it lessens the effects of the birth control it can trigger ovulation. They do have the pregnancy tests that can test up to 5 days before your period, so maybe test now and test again in a week or so. Good Luck hun!

thank you, this helps me out a lot! Can I ask how soon you felt symptoms? It is possible that I am already feeling some? If I were pregnant I would have conceived about 2-3 weeks ago...I am supposed to get my period on Friday. I was still taking my birth control pills (up until today...now I am on the placebo week) and yesterday I had light cramping and very light spotting, I heard this could be a sign...?

Thanks again hun, you're a great help Smile I'm gonna take a test tonight or tomorrow

Hi
Some but not all antibiotics effect the pill. I would tell you, if you even "thought' you might be pregnant, STOP taking the pill. Wait to see if you miss this period thats suppose to come Friday. Can you go to a Health Department that offers family planning? They will give you a pregnancy test, a blood test would comfirm it.I am not sure about home pregnancy test, but do know from reading post here, the dollar store ones are NOT accurate! Hope this helps! Good Luck!
