I recently started taking the birth control pill Yaz again while taking supplements for Adrenal Fatigue. When I was not taking Yaz I felt better than I had in years; I lost 20 pounds, had amazing energy levels, was a happier person, and my sleep patterns returned to normal. Fast forward 2 months and I started taking my birth control again (my prescription had expired and I had to wait to get a doctor appointment) and within two weeks I was back to feeling lethargic, suffering from mild insomnia, and cannot lost weight no matter what.

I also began to feel very irritable and have a general sense of malaise... After reading about Yaz and discovering one should not take it with adrenal disease I am searching for other birth control pills I can safely take while continuing to repair my adrenals. Any assistance is greatly aprreciated. I am a newlywed, but have not been able to enjoy anything since going back on Yaz.

Have you considered a different type of contraception? Many birth control pills work in the same way, so maybe pills aren't the right solution. Trying different brands MAY help, but that also could take time and money.

The IUD is a non-hormonal type of contraception and could be your best bet if hormones cause you so many problems.
