met great guy...tells me he is bipolar...he pursued me and our sex life was hot and great..suddenly out of the blue he tells me he has hit a wall..and that it is part of his illness and that he doesn't want to hurt me and that we should just not have anymore sex or physical contact of any kind...yea, I know, sounds like I am being handed my walking papers...but, yet, he still wants me come over every night and hang out and watch movies and sleep in the bed with him (no contact) and things just be normal as before...just now no kissing, no touching, no nothing!!

When I ask him to explain to me again and again why this change...it's always straight back pushed onto "the bipolar" illness and he gets frustrated that I am not able to understand this...yea, all I know is I met someone who I had great sex life with and just because his illness is controlling his actions I am to just fall in suit and accept this decision even though It's not what I want??

Is this normal behavoir for someone with this illness?? he has all the other signs...obsessive and compulsive shopping...weeks of down time...crazy highs, etc. I care about him and enjoyed our physical and friendship aspect but it doesn't seem fair to me.

Extremely eHealthy
Avoiding physical contact, usually appears as a symptom in people suffering from obsessive-compulsive disorder.
Too often, bipolar patients have co-occurring mental disorder, and, OCD is one of them.
Acting differently than before, can mean that he probably switched the episodes (increased sexual appetite and excessive self-esteem during manic episode make bipolar patient engaging in frequent sexual acts, having "hot and great" sexual life).
Shutting down and avoiding physical contact, sometimes is a depressive symptom.

Is he taking meds on regular basis for his bipolar?

staley your post made me laugh...you got a great sense of humor...no, not a fat chick and not desperate...things just were great all around when met this guy and all seemed cool...then all of sudden it changed...yes, first thought was "hey, he was into you but now isn't..." but he hasn't changed anything else between us...still wants to hang out everyday, etc...I already made the decision awhile back to just be friends with this person and find a normal person like you said...I have never experienced any sort of relationship or acquaintance with anyone with bi polar...it was a learning experience..thanks for the reply...
