Nursing care in which setting - home or
hospital? At home you would provide
support, medication compliance, follow up
with doctor visits. There is not much a
nurse would provide outside of the
clinical setting. Within the hospital
setting a nurse would provide usual care -
medication, support, teaching the patient,
teaching the family, assisting with follow
up care and finding support when home.

Don't be confused and afraid. You are
doing the right thing mbae coming to seek
help.
Continue to educate yourself.
Caring for a person with bi polar disorder
can take a toll on you if you do not take
care of yourself. Work between supporting
your loved one and taking care of
yourself.
You can help by learning about the
illness, offering hope and encouragement,
keeping track of symptoms, and being a
partner in treatment.
It calls for patience and understanding.
One has to learn to cope with the mania
when there may be outbursts and such.
Encourage the person to get help.
With proper treatment, the good news is
that most people with bipolar can
stabilize their moods. Medication is
important and so is support. Take hope it
is not the end of the world. Be strong
because you can play a significant in his
or her life.
My husband stood mbae me while I was ill
with bipolar. He would give me my
medication until I was able to take them
on my own. He cooked and kept the house
going. One person has be the one who is
not sick and act.
