I have been diagnosed with Bipolar disorder/anxiety,and while I had insurance, took Lamictal along with Clonopin with pretty good results. Of course, now I am a student, that can't seem to find a job,so that all ended rather abruptly several months ago(close to a year). I fear that, without treatment,I'll go back into the same cycle of self-destructive behavior (not physically, but in the sense of quitting jobs, giving up on required tasks,etc.). Also, and most importantly, for the past month or so I've been having daily problems with my hands and/or feet involuntarily clenching up and tingling.
I should also mention that I've been bulimic for several years,as well as an alcohol abuser, and a slight insomniac. I try to make sure that I have something substantial and healthy in my stomach at least twice a day,but eating doesn't seem to alleviate the sporadic muscle clenching in my hands and feet.
I'm at a a loss as to whether this is related to the bipolar/anxiety due to the fact that it has just developed recently. I'm also at a loss as to what I can do about it with no insurance or money.

Hi Lee,

I'm sorry to hear that you are going through so much. Do you live in the U.S.? What state are you in? If you do live in the states your county or state should have help for mental illness. I had lost my insurance for a short period of time and the county took care of my meds and asigned me to a psychiatrist. For the county, it was pretty impressive. There is help out there. I would think that your involuntary clenching is probably either from your bipolar disorder or something you were left with from going off your meds. I get that at night sometimes when my legs get tired and want to move around. I think it's from the meds.
