So, here's the deal. I'm bipolar. I was diagnosed 2 years ago. I'm on medication and it seems to be helping somewhat. My question is this: Are we bipolars "normal" between cycles? Although it is hard to tell with me because I'm rapid cycling/mixed state, I find that I don't handle stress as well as I used to (even when I'm "normal"). Things can be going along fine and life is good when suddenly a situation (not even a major one) will come up, and I'll get very stressed, very emotional, and almost debilitated. It may take me anywhere between a few hours and a few days to recover.

It's not like I'm not used to handling stress/conflicts. I used to be a counselor (Master's degree in counseling). But now I find that I'm unable to handle things like I used to. Is this the bipolar? Any advice?
