Q: Bipolar and legally incompetent ?

A model signed a model release.
Her lawyer says she "was" bipolar at the time, so it is
"questionble" if she was competent to sign the release.

Does this make any sense?

Hello Modelman,

It is an interesting question that you pose. Unfortunaly I do not know the answer. Wish I did. I have asked myself that question before.

The answer will lie with a legal person of course.

However I do not know if it is on a state basis or with federal laws.

I note that in certain countries that they "section" (using laws I gather) a person into an institute for their own good and it can also be for the good of others.

I would like to know if "sectioning" means that the person is not legally comperdent(sp. I guess you are wanting to know the same.

However it looks like her lawyer was implying that she was anot comperdent.

Regards to you,

JennyRobin
