I'm bipolar and have recently in the past few months finally been correctly diagnosed for the first time, after alsmot 10 years. so im still trying to figure things out to do my best to live life. one thing thats been bothering me lately is..

i know some bipolar people have a ridiculously high sex drive.
but do some have the opposite?
i mean it seems like lately i dont even want to hold my boyfriends hand
i love him so much and it has nothing to do with our relationship its okay as ever
but i just dont even like to do simple things like cuddling while watching a movie
not because i dont like spending time with him or not even that im upset
i just dont have a desire too.. simply just because
and i know hes noticing and its bothering him

could this have to do with bipolar?

I have Biploar Type 1 and have lost all interest in intimacy since being put on medications. I also have PTSD, depression, anxiety, and personality disorder. I would say if you are on meds then it is possible

My boyfriend has the same "problem" you are having. I put problem in quotes because it seems wrong to call it that. The meds really do mess with the body and can take away that intimacy. It is just very important to always tell your boyfriend that you love him. Not that he will forget that you do, but it will help him cope with everything that is going on. I recommend that once a week you do try to make time to cuddle--even if it is hard for you to do that, just try-but if it truly becomes unbearable let him know, but explain it is not him its the meds and this terrible disease. Just make sure that you tell him you love him, and to be there for him, but let him be there for you too.
