iv just had exactly same thing, but got bad biopsy results so im having to have D.E.T.Z, where they use an electrical current to cut away the abnormal cells! you say you have had colposcopies b4 have you ever had them take a biopsy in the past??? xxx

She said we have to wait until the results come back to decide if we are going to do a leep procedure or the cone one.

If you had a biopsy last June, the chance it has become cancer in 7 months is LOW. Cancer of the cervix takes years to develop. It sounds like your doctor is being pro-active with you and checking you regularly. Abnormal cells are not cancer and the abnormal cells can be removed with LEEP or cone.

No, you shouldn't worry that it is cancer. If you keep up on your check ups (pap smears/colpos), you will be fine.

I always didn't go back to my dr when i was suppose too. Maybe like a month or two afterwards. But since june when i had a colp. i had a repeat pap in the meantime and then went yesterday for my colp.

well from the 1st time i had a smear and got an abnormal result the hopital messed up an never sent me an app for a colposcopy, i had to have a repeat smear and then colposcopy, but the time in between was 5months of waiting! all iv had is a bad result again and iv gotta have D.E.T.Z so its chances of having developed into cancer are so slim as it takes an extremely long time years even so my nurse says, to manifest into cancer from the time your abnormal cells appeared hun, you really are worrying for nothing!! hope your ok xxx

Hi
Last June when i had a colop done i remembered they didn't take a biospy.. There was no changes on my cervix for them to take a biopsy. So i really don't rememeber when my last biospy was.. So does this change things. I have to go in Feb 4th to get the results.. And i'm still freaking out.

if last june they didnt even take biopsies hun then you were completely fine!!! do not worry!! it was march when i had my smear and that came bk with abnormal cells, i have only just the 7th of this month had biopsies taken for them to finally sort me out! the biopsies didnt come bk clear so i have to have lazer surgery to remove them, but this is not because the cells are cancer, they could just in time ( and its already been since march last year ) turn into cancer, but it would take alot longer than it already has!! it isnt cancer so if your biospies came bk normal two months after i had mine which were abnormal, and i dont have cancer, what u think your chances are of having it??? get me??? stop worrying bless you xxx

I guess i realize that but it's what the recptionist said to me when i called and and scheduled my appt for feb, i asked her why do i need to come in, and she said to go over the results and i asked her why couldn't they just tell me over the phone she said just in case it comes back postive for cancer. But my dr said i
need to come back when my results are in to
discuss what procedure needs to be done. She didn't say anything about cancer.. so i have been wondering. I don't think it's right that the receptionist said that about being positive for cancer.. So i was and have been freaked out. I will be until i hear it for myself i guess..lol

I wish you luck sherry. You need to talk to your doctor as soon as possible regarding the results of your tests and if you need to ask an oncologist.
