I have been taking klonopin for 12 yrs and I am 56...I suspect the doc gave this to me for peri menopause as I had a panic attack and he gave me this and I have been on this for 12 yrs at .5 mg.
I cold turkeyed two times and got so sick and reinstated the benzo..and now slowly withdrawling from it and as I go lower I get more sicker and sweatier...I know this is a wd sign but also I know that this is menopause too I think...um it took me 7 months to get to half off the pill and the lower I go the worse I feel...so I had tests done and my doctor says I have low progestrone and estrogen...and high testostrone and he feels the reason I am so sick the hormone imbalance and low amounts of prog/est is adding to the wd's...and I am told on the benzo boards not to add hormones as you are getting off as it will make you sicker and some say to do it and may help if you use bio identical hormones...does any one know ????

My doctor feels that the lower I go on the klonoopin that is why I am sicker as it is uncovering the hormone imbalance and many others say no on the benzo boards..sayin I took this pill 12 yrs and I am gonna have a tough time.

any help will be appreciated.
thanks

I am sorry that you have not had a response on this...Possibly you may want to Ask the Doctor here at the top of the page...Good luck...
