Q: Binge eating
asked by: DoctorQuestion on October 21st, 2009
I cant stop binge eating. I need help to stop. I have asked my boyfriend to help me but he also binges but he can get away with it cause he's a guy and burns it off. If I binge I either go and throw it up or take laxatives. If I have too many will this affect me later in life?
I also go from extremes to being really healthy then all of a sudden I will binge. I dont want to do it anymore but I dont know how to stop. Im an exercise freek as well. I need help and to talk to some one but I cant afford it.

Hello and welcome to eHealth Forum!

Yes you are right, you need help! If you cannot afford a doctor, maybe you can join a support group. Have confidence in yourself and your looks. Chalk out a diet plan and stick to it. Also join a good exercise trainer or a gym as you are an exercise freak and stick to that too.

Taking laxatives will spoil the whole digestive process if taken for prolonged time causing deficiencies of minerals and vitamins. Please do not resort to laxatives as a means of reducing weight.

If you are a binge eater and cannot get medical help, then do not keep high calorie snacks at home. Eat more of fruits and vegetables.

There is not much to add to this on net. Please try and get medical help. Hope this helps. Take care!
