Bile leakage and poss. botched surgery clamp fell off bile duct

Must Read
The liver is the largest organ of the body. What happens when liver cells start to overgrow? What types of liver cancer can develop?...
Most of the time, liver cancer does not originate in the liver but has spread from other parts of the body. Learn what puts you at risk of this serious disease....

The Dr. that did the surgery and the Dr. that did the stint both said... that a clamp (staple type clamp) came loose(fell off) post-op. after a colon surgery to take a small portion of the colon and treat some tumors with Radio frequency ablation (RFA) on the liver. It took several days to figure out that she was leaking bile into her abdomen and lung cavity. I have read many horror story's about the Dr.s not diagnosing this problem and the time to finally figure out what is going on. Everything I have read seems to refer to a HIDAscan and stint placement and possible keyhole cleaning out of the affected areas....She has been on O2 for the last 30 days and now there saying pneumonia (sp sorry) and now kidneys are failing...she has been in ICU for 32 days ...the DR's don't seem to have a clue...every test seems to take 3-4 days to come back ....seems like they can't preform any nuclear testing half the week...tues.-Friday...the cultures and blood work should not take this long ...should she be at a bigger hospital or does it always take this long for test/scans to be read/interpreted ? I wish I would have insisted on a large city hospital and not podunk USA....any help will be appreciated thanks in advance...

Extremely eHealthy
as a general point about surgery; the more a Dr performs the same the more likely they are to have fewer complications. that is why people to get LASIK eye surgery often look for the guy who has done 10s of 1000s
practice makes perfect
hospitals are terrible places for sick people to be because all the people in the hospital r sick
kinda a CATCH 22
