Hello, i'm Jeni. I'm 13 and 14 in 8
months.
I hate my ears. They stickout and its so
unatractive .
I really want them pinned back but im
scared of the risks that could happen
afterwards. Ever since i was about 8 ive
wanted them pinned back because im so
self-conious about them. My mom and Dad
say there fine but deep down i know there
not. I just wish i had normal ears, so i
could tie my hair up and feel more
confident about myself. Please can someone
give me advice on the effects of having
ear sugery and how long do i have to wait
befor i can have the opperation done ?

Hey sweet girl, I know you feel like
Dumbo, but this has to be a decision that
your parents will agree upon, without
their consent, there is nothing you can
do. I know of several young people (12
years old) to be exact, who went and had
their ears pinned. They have had no
problems from having it done. In fact,
they did feel better about themselves and
their grades and self esteem went up! this
is not a cheap surgery, and its permanent.
I would say if this is something you
really really want, set them down and tell
them how you feel. Then, if they do not
agree, wear your hang long until you are
of age, save the $ and have it done
