Everyone is different, don't worry. Could you explain more? Were you born this way? Is there any pain or is it just a physical appearence thing?

Perhaps you should go to a doctor to inquire about it...if they don't say anything about it, it would appear okay...and that everyone is different. The doctor will do their job.

Every women is different and luckily for us, all men have different tastes. With so many billions of women on the planet, normal and abnormal does not really exist except in our own minds.

You may want to see a doctor just to make sure your hormone levels are ok. A large clitoris is normally a sign of high testosterone or steroids. If your parents are still alive, you might also talk to them to find out if you were born like this. It will feel strange and uncomfortable but it is well worth it for your own piece of mind.

Best of luck!!

yeah!
I feel the same i talked to my mom about it, actually she pointed it out when she saw me getting dressed, and said it looks like a penis.
I feel so embaressed, i haven't sex yet. I' only 17 years old. My mom said that may turn off my partner. I've read a couple of articles and it said it was normal, like having a finger print, everyone's finger print is different and unique.
Is there reasons on why it could be big?

Monae,

Hey, I think that was mean of your mother to say that! I do not think that she speaks for men and unless she is a nurse, she has not seen enough clitorises for her to be the judge of that.

The visible part of the clitoris is of course what sticks out underneath the hood. Many woman has a fleshy ridge over the clitoris (looks like a pipe that is buried in sand from the clitoris up towards the belly button). This is often long and very pronounced but it is not the clitoris or an indicator of the size of the clitoris. Other woman have no visible clitoris or ridge and the vulva is perfectly smooth with just the slit in the middle like a clam. It is just something that makes you unique like dimples or freckles, long legs or short legs etc.

An enlarged clitoris is caused by a hormonal imbalance (testosterone). It is most frequently because of steroids and it is common in female body builders and weight lifters in some countries.

These women also have enlarged adams apples, husky voices and excessive hair growth on their faces.

We are not in a beauty contest with our genitals. There is no Miss Clitoris competition. I am sure any man will gladly accept you for the unique woman you are and love every inch of you. You will give him as much love and pleasure with a small invisible clitoris as a big and large clitoris. And that is what counts, is it not?

Oh no!! If masturbation could cause your clitoris to enlarge most women would have HUGE clitorises.

Masturbation cannot cause anything to change size or shape. It is the safest and healthiest way to learn about your body, sexual response and handle sexual tension. It is a vital part of growing up as a healthy and balanced woman.

Rub on!!

LOL Smile Thanks Once Again! I have been so happy about this, It had me a little worried, yet ever since you've set my head straight I've been better, It was so bad till I tried tapping it back one night while i'm sleeping & decided to take it off during the day Smile I was going to make it a daily basis thing. Sad

Now I look at it as if whatever, Like I always have until my mommmy said something.
It's cause I'm unique that's all, and I accept this, nor does it bother me. If I do have my first boyfriend and WE decide to have sex, and he questions my clitoris I hope my explaination of not all clitoris's looking alike, helps him, and understand just as I did Very Happy

This is the only website that gave me a detailed information, and confirmation that I'm okay. I though I thought I needed to see a doctor earlier on Before I asked you, and at the same token of that I was embaressed of the though of having to show my doctor my vagina, when I'm not taking a PAP test Razz

Your best Susan862003, I thank you for aswering back to my continous questions & curriosity Smile

A guy is going to love it . . . easy to see and find and lick and suck and play with. Once you relax about it - you can enjoy those sensations too. . . . speaking as a guy I wish that I could actually find the thing once in a while - somethings you think you can feel it with your tongue and then its gone - it would be nice to have something to go on except for the occasional moan or twitch - a woman has it easy - there is the penis - rub pretty much any part of it and it feels good . . . sexual arousal in women is catching a leprechaun . . ..

From a guy's point of view-In general a large prominent clit is easier for a guy to find and stimulate and should be a source of much pleasure for both partners. If it is so large that it's bigger than his penis, that might be a problem. Otherwise, enjoy the sensations!!!

Womens clit is like mens penis there are different sizes.
Enjoy what you have been given. A partner that has a problem with it is a partner you do not need to waste your time with.

I'm concerned all of you have assumed this is for the benefit of men, we don't know the sexuality of the original poster or anyone else who might read this - it can be attractive to other women too.

I'm more concerned that you'd have well endowed ladies scuttling off to doctors for validation and permission -why?! We need to get away from limiting ideas about what's normal for a woman.

I'm also not happy that a few have said that it's about too much hormone - why are we limiting ourselves when men wouldn't, so quick to put a label of too much or unacceptable on our sexuality?!

It's fine, normal and you don't need any medical permission or to believe you've got too much of anything.

I am all for positive thinking. An enlarging clitoris together with some other signs are however a sign of heightened androgen (testosterone) levels. This is a sign of PCOS. When you ignore this, you harm your fertility and it can be a sign of early onset diabetes. Both of these are serious medical issues.

So do not let your positive thinking and self confidence affect your health and ability to have children. Rather make sure it is not a sign of other problems.

If your clit is big I think you have to learn to love it. I reduced my labia lips but would not cut my holiest of holies. Peace.
