Q: Best time to take HPT ?

I am now 7 days late on my period. Some people say that it is still to early to tell if I were to take a HPT now while others say that the hormones should show up in my urine by now. I don't want to panic and get a test if I end up getting my period in a couple of days however, not knowing and getting on the appropriate track is not good either. Should I wait another week for my period or should I test now/ should it show up now if I were to take a HPT?

Have you ever been late on a period before then got it? I took a test 2 days before my expected period and it was positive.

Last year when I had cysts on my ovaries/kidney infection it made my period about 2 weeks late. I was so scared before I ended up going to the doctor that I spent quite a bit of money on HPTs then after I started taking my antibiotics and my infections cleared out I got my period. Since then my periods have been very regular. That is why I am nervous but at the same time I am not really paranoid. Haha. I don't have any unusual cramping, I don't have tender breasts and the only increase in my urination is that fact that I have been drinking a lot more water. The only thing that's different is I have been having an increase in discharge.

do you feel the way you did when you had the infections? more discharge does happen when you get pregnant but it doens't mean you are pregnant. it's usually thicker and whiter when you are pregnant.

No, I don't feel that way either but I have been having pretty bad lower back pains and hot flashes. I usually get those before my period though. I think I am going to wait until next Friday and if I don't have my period by then, then I will take a HPT.
