I had a myelogram on my back, I had no numbing medicine, during the procedure I felt excrutiating pain and the doc said the needle bent into a C shape and he couldnt hardly get it out, he then proceeded after it came out to give me a shot to numb it but I have had right hip pain and a feeling like cold water in my right foot and leg, he said I had a muscle spasm during procedure and he had never seen anything like that before, is this uncommon and should he have redone the procedure again after this happened?

I have never heard of something like this happening before nor have I ever heard of a myleogram being done without some numbing agent used prior to the needle being inserted.

Whether your tests results are accurate or not or why you felt the pain and feeling that you did is because of muscle spasm and all that the doctor said, I also don't know.

Whether you should have a repeat of this test done or not I don't know either.

What I do know, though, is I would never let this doctor anywhere near me again and I would do some investigation about this doctor and if he is really competent to be doing these kinds of tests.

Good luck

Fran
