Let me start with the fact I've danced since I was 2 and it's what I want to do with my life as I head to college next year. I recently had a knee surgery that made me gain quite a lot of weight. In recovery for the surgery my mom suggested the HCG diet to help get my body back to normal. I have been losing weight on the diet (30 pounds in 6weeks with not much work out)and others have noticed, but I still haven't. Recently I have become really active again as I finish up physical therapy yet for a while every time I eat I get sick and can't get much food in my body. I could force myself to eat for a while and although I was sick I kept the food down but more and more I can barely take in small amounts of food without vomiting (involuntarily). I tried getting help from my parents because I had a friend go through anorexia in dance and I was recognizing a lot of the same signs with myself and they blamed it on my meds that didn't change when these symptoms started and told me not to be "so over dramatic" when I was telling them I was worried. I know no matter what I won't get help from them because they refuse to believe their daughter could do something "so stupid". Should I be trying to find help somewhere else? Does it even sound like anorexia? I really need help because I'm alone on this right now.
Thanks!

Hi five6seven8 and welcome to ehealth: First, I want to congratulate you on being so wise as to know that you are in trouble...Yes, you are...You must get help...

If I may make one comment, please watch out for your Mother...She seems the one who is pushing you to dancing...Sometimes Mothers try to live their life through their daughters....No, this is not caused by your meds...You are trying too hard and developing some very bad habits...Talk to your counselor or see your doctor...Honey, we are here anytime...Take care...
