Hi I ate beetroot 3 days ago and my stools are redish-pink, but this washes off - sorry for saying that but I had to see if the colour would wash off - and stool is left brown. The colour on the tissue containing the stool was an unnatural colour pink and didn't stay looking like blood but when I put a miniscule amount of real blood on the same tissue - from a thumb prick - it stayed pink and blood-looking. I am so worried as I ate the beetroot 3 days ago so surely it would have gone out of my system by now??

It is normal for beets to alter the color of your bowel movements and urine (even for a few days). If you don't eat beets for a few more days, it should go away. If the condition persists beyond that or if you experience any pain, see a doctor.

That was a very scientific analysis btw! Smile

Hope that helps...
