Q: Been referred to specialist

I have just been to see my GP about having an abortion, and they have referred me to a specialist for the second authorisation I need so it can all go ahead. What I really want to know is - are they going to ask me the same questions my GP did? Am I going to have to "plead my case" for a second time? I found it very upsetting and I would like to know if being referred means I am definitely approved for a termination or if I still have to convince another stranger just how traumatic this situation is for me?

I would have thought that you'd need to explain your circumstances again. It does seem a bit ott though - when I went with my friend to the GP because she wanted an abortion, the doctor just asked her a few questions then said 'okay'. She didn't have to see a specialist or anything.

Are you quite far along or something?

Three whole weeks, so I would say I'm not exactly far gone.
