Q: Becoming a doctor qualitifications

hello..
I'm in grade 9 at the moment, ks3,I'm from ENGLAND,UK.
and I'm much interested in being a doctor, i just love the job. Smile

can you please give me advice so i could start preparing myself for the future,to be a successful Doc.
Confused

from the marks i need to the special characteristics that are needed for the job.
i already like science, maths and English, and i get pretty high marks in all 3,

It looks like you are doing pretty well for setting a path to your goal. You will want to keep your grades high in all those subjects, plus a good overall gpa. Plus it would help to keep perfect conduct grades: nothing worse than a doctor with a horrible bedside manner.



If you want to get ahead and have the time, you should see if you want to specialize in any particular area and read medical journals (such as Lancet) on the side to keep up with the latest developments in health.

Oh and you'll probably want to get yourself a smattering of Greek and Latin, because you will use those languages a lot.

hello, i am the same! i am in g.9 too (but from canada) and i have ALWAYS wanted to be a nurse or a doctor. currently i have learned alot at school because i want ot be a nurse in the oncoligy (cancer) unit of the Hopsital For Sick Children in toronto. a good idea is going to bioligy classes and LISTEN WELL, also do reaserch online!! leran about what knid of doc u wanna be!]
