i just started ortho 0.5/35 yesterday and this evening was my second pill. i've been on alesse and another brand before for a month and didnt notice any side effects but my mood which i really didnt like so i stopped. but now i started with this brand and this morning after i took my first pill last night i felt like throwing up, then later on in the day it stopped, then i took my pill at 7 this evening and im starting to notice that feeling like throwing up coming back a bit, unless im just nervous and blaming the pill for the feeling. but is it too soon to notice side effects? or could the pill be the cause for wanting to throw up? the brand im taking now has a higher dose of hormones then the other ones so i was thinking of going back to the brand i cant think of at this moment cause it cause the least side effects for me. so how long does it take to notice the side effects the pill will have on me?

Yes, the pill can cause nausea. Pick a consistent time of day to take it at, either morning or night. Some people can't take it at night, and some people can't take it in the morning. I personally found I was not nauseous when I took it in the morning.

This is usually a temporary side effect, so give the pill three whole months as you're supposed to. That's how long it can take for side effects to go away.
