hi iam 24 yrs old ,from past 1 and half i am facing bartholin gland problem,since i have noticed...i have not got any kind of pain,i showed it my gynace she suggested me for a surgery if i want to do it,i am little worried that after a surgery will the gland go away forever,or it will come again.please help me on this ,i am little tense should i do the surgery or no?

This is what I found on WebMd. "cyst is surgically opened and the sides sewn open (like a purse) so no fluid or skin cell accumulation" occurs. This is called marsupialization. It does not mention anything about removal of the glands if this is what you are having done. tc
