A little over a year ago, I was treated
for a bartholin gland abcess. I had
noticed a small lump there before but it
suddenly got much larger and very painful.
I was treated with antibiotics (levaquin)
and the cyst shrunk considerably, so I had
almost forgotten about it. I've been
having pelvic pain recently, but it isn't
exactly where the cyst was, so I didn't
even consider that it could be related.
Today when I was taking a shower, I
decided to check for it and it is
definately back. I know that it was much
smaller than it is now (I had trouble
finding it) and now that it is getting
larger again I am afraid that it will
develop into an abcess. Since the cyst is
back, is it very likely that it will
become infected again? I'm also concerned
because I have been having diareah very
often and I'm afraid that some waste might
get on it or something and cause
infection. Are there any other women
who have experience with recurring
bartholin gland cysts or abcesses? Please
share your experiences and any advice you
may have for me.
