I got a Bartholin cyst, the size of a golf ball. I got it after a Bikini Wax so I think something happened that was very irritating. I tried the Sitz baths and nothing...even several times a day...and nothing. I was very worried, I am over 40 and really didn't want to go to the doctor because I know they would do something harsh and test me for cancer. So I waited and waited and it went away after about 4 months. It has been 1 year since that happened, so it looks like it is gone for good. I am posting for all the women who are excessively worried about this. If it doesn't hurt, it is not infected, you don't have a fever, you feel fine...etc...I suspect that for 99% of women it eventually goes away. I didn't even take baths anymore. I think exercise helped, because it seemed smaller after yoga or running, and then it would come back and then one day it was the size of a pea and then a couple days later it went away for good. There is a reason we have a gland, if you go to the doctor and they damage it or excise it, then you are opening yourself up to the consequences of that and a life of discomfort or worse.
