I was diagnosed 10 years ago by a gastroenterologist as having Baretts. I am scoped every two years. I took Prilosec for a number of years and suffered constantly with headaches, diahorrea and back pain. I switched from PPI to PPI and landed on Nexium with a low dose every other day. A daily dose resulted in constant headaches, diahorrea and aching backpain - so it was reduced to every other day.
I was recently laid off, lost my insurance coverage and went back to generic Prilosec with the same terrible side effects as before.

Nexium worked well but also had very uncomfortable side effects.
Is there anything out there that is equally effective yet without the side effects or am I doomed to taking anti-diahoreal plus tylenol for headache and backpain?

Apart from GERD, I am a very healthy 48 year old, non smoker, non drinker, exercise regularly, careful with my diet and I am not overweight.
