Unfortunately, a diagnosis cannot be made over the internet. However, if the lesion just showed up a short time ago (or if it has changed in character recently), you probably want to have it checked. The biggest concern over any black lesion is, of course, that it could be a melenoma (a skin cancer).

See your primary care provider and he/she can refer you to a dermatologist if needed. Good luck.
