Q: Bad reaction to anesthesia premedication

I was given the drug called "versed" before a surgery and it made me more anxious and well not relaxed like they said it would. Anyone ever experienced this before? and I am having another surgery soon, can I request that I not be given any drugs before they put me to sleep?

Your reaction to Versed
Hi, my experiences with Versed (I've had multiple surgeries since Nov. 2008) have all been positive. It helped me relax and didn't make me feel all "spaced out." I did have trouble with a different pre-op sedative and asked for something else from anesthesiology and they were happy to accomodate. I'm sure if you ask they can give you something different!
