I'm having bad pain in the back of my head, its been 48 hrs now and its only got worse...especially around the two bones at the back of my skull on both sides, as they also feel swollen and hurt more when pressure is applied. Im loosing sleep now as it hurts to put my head down on the pillow. Can anyone suggest what might be going on? Sad thank u

Hello and thank you for your post on e health forum.

From the history and the symptoms provided, it seems that you might be having tension headache.

Taking OTC NSAIDs like ibuprofen in adequate doses for a few days, might be helpful to reduce the symptoms.

Adequate sleep and rest will be helpful.

You might consult a doctor, who after a complete physical exam will determine if your headaches are due to muscle tension, sinus problems, or due to migraine.

If the pain is intolerable, then your doctor can prescribe better pain medications to relieve your pain.
