Q: Bad cough with asthma

I was recently (two months ago, maybe) diagnosed with asthma, so I'm new to this, but I've had a bad cough for the past few days (as well as a sore throat), I've been taking Lewis Pharmacy brand Dry cough medicine and I was wondering, if there any kind of specific medicine I need?
