Bad breath treatment

Must Read
Bad breath can often be the first sign of a disease. But how do doctors define bad breath and what are the major causes of bad breath?...
Did you know that bad breath can be associated with sinus problems? Learn more about the common (and unfamiliar) causes of bad breath here....
Did you know that symptoms of bad breath depend upon medical cause? More here on major causes and related symptoms of bad breath...plus when to seek help....
My husband used to be bothered by severe bad breath....He tried everything...Cut down on his coffee, which he still does as it is a culprit, and brushed his teeth and flossed regularly....Yet it was there....We wondered if it was a stomach ulcer, but all the tests were done and nothing found...

After trying everything, he headed back to the dentist...He is pretty much of a specialist and this time found that this may be a gum problem...He said this affects many people...He gave him a prescription, which he refills every month, for Chlorhexidine Gluconate 0.12% Oral Rinse....It comes in a Pint bottle...He rinses his mouth out with this twice a day, holding it in for one minute and then spits it out....Overnight it was gone...It has never come back....Hopefully this will help someone else...

Take care,
Caroline

Hi Daniel:

I told my husband I put this on and he mentioned I should have said that it is good for gingiva too.....Well I would have had he told me this years ago....So now I am.....It is just awesome....When he was in the hospital for his hip replacement surgery for four days last year, because of medication he could not use it....Yet, he stayed kissing sweet....It really is great....

Best wishes and thanks again,
Caroline

I am looking at the Prescription Information that comes with it and is says Quantity as 473...I think it is refilled more than once a month...Maybe every three weeks...Under Patient Allergies: It says that it is a Morphine Derivative....The bottle runs $17.99 without insurance....My husband has been on it for about ten years....

Hope this helps...It is awesome...

I worked in the dental field for over 10 years....yes it can be a cause of gum disease. Besides using mouthwash, use a tongue scraper everyday!!! You will also notice a difference

Thanks much...We were told this long ago and did not give it a second thoughts...He has used this for over 15 years....Rinses twice a day...It has never stained his teeth...However, if it did, after all the suffering of having a bad breath and now being so kissing sweet, I would tell him to use it again and again...There are whitening agents and people who accomplish this all over...

Take care,
Caroline
