I am 27 years old and had a laparoscopic vaginal hysterectomy last March. Prior to the surgery I had never had one episode of bacterial vaginosis or yeast infection. Since the surgery (which the cuff of the vagina had difficulty healing and had to be recauterized) I have had at least 10-12 episodes of BV. We have treated my husband as well and I have changed my diet, lost 20lbs, my doc checked my blood sugar, etc. I don't have anal to vaginal sex or douche or tampons but when I had a CBC done while I had an infection, my WBC count was 6. Also, just FYI I am in a monogomous marriage of 7 years and have been tested for all STD's. Please help I am at my wits end!! Is this related to having a hysterectomy or could htere be an underlying condition that I am unaware of?
