I've just had an annual that hasn't been annual for @ 7 years. My last pap smear/exam my cervix was healthy, etc. This time around I have bacterial vaginosis & an 'inflamed' cervix. My cervix is partially bumpy & bled a little. This sounds bad to me. I will have my pap results in two weeks but, I want to prepare myself for the possible scenario of cancer - I read about pap results, etc. a lot on forums but women rarely mention what their cervix actually looked like upon examination. I assume that, with cancer, no woman's cervix will look healthy....but, have any of you had a bad looking cervix but had no cancer (I guess those gals might not be posting here!).

Thanks!

These bumps could be mucus-filled cysts on the surface of the cervix, known as Nabothian cysts, which are considered harmless and usually disappear on their own.
Bumpy cervix can be seen as a sign of chronic inflammatory infection of your cervix, too.
Rarely, Nabothian cysts are correlation with chronic cervicitis.
Increased cervical cancer risk is significantly associated with the history of chronic cervicitis.

Do you usually have vaginal discharge that becomes more pronounced immediately following your menstrual period?
Are you experiencing abdominal and low back pain?
