Hello,

Ok I am very freaked out because I heard that BV can cause infertility and I just so happen to be trying to have a baby I have had BV and yeast infections in the past and ususally the Doctor says it's not a big deal it's just BV or Yeast Infection and he would just prescribe the Meds. I have not had any STD's throughout my life. The only thing I had was UTI's, Yeast Infections and BV. I did visit the doctor and ask him was I'm able to have children and he took so blood and a week later called and said that I was able to have children and I am ovualating just fine. I heard that usually BV or Yeast clears up when you come on your period which is why usually I want go to the doctor. But now I am very scared because in the past I had it. So my question is can it cause infertility? and if you are infertile do you still ovualate?

I have never heard that bacterial vaginosis can cause infertility. I know that bacterial vaginosis and other infections or STIs can make your body more vulmnerable to STDs which can lead to inferttility. I don't think you have anything to worry about.
Some infertile women can ovulate- it varies from person to person. One woman may have normal ovulation and menstrual cycles but have a problem with her womb or scarring that prevents implantation/ impregnation while another woman may be infertile specifically because her body cannot ovulate.

Ok the doctor said that I am ovualting good so should that mean that I should be able to get pregnant. I think that it may be my boyfriend sperm count.

ovulating good does not necessarily mean pregnancy easy or at all, while bv is not a weighty concern for infertility, it does need to be addressed as the levels in the vagina when a imbalance is presence can cause the vagina to be too acidic and thus kill the sperm before it has chance to travel to fertilise the egg, also what makes u think ur bf has a low sperm count?

my advice keep trying for the bambino and if u hav no look after 12 months go see the doc, it does depend on ur age though, it can take upto 18 months for a healthy couple under 30 to concieve naturally, each month there is only a small window in which conception can happen in the window of the ovualation which is about 48hrs or so, try in this window for best results, take folic acid now if u not already.

good luck hun x

Ok my boyfriend and I just had sex when I was ovulating. But we had sex side 2 times sideways on the bed and 1 time doggy style and all 3 times he ejaculated in me. So my question is would it be harder for me to become pregnant in those positions and I did get up right afterwards to wipe off the sperm so could that be a problem as well because when I got up the sperm came out.
