I keep getting vaginal bacterial infections. I go to my doctor they give me medication (flagyl) and its cleared. Then I get it again and I go back to the doctor and so on... Can by boyfriend just be giving it back to me? If so, does he need to take flagyl too? If so how much? I have 14 500 mg flagyl.. How many should I give him and how many should I take?

“Bacterial infection” is a general term. You need to tell me which bacterium caused the infection. Certain bacteria (Gardnerela vaginalis, Streptococcus, Staphylococcus, Escherichia coli etc.) or fungi (Candida) are not considered to be sexually transmitted. Other bacteria (Neiseria gonorrhea, Syphilis, Chlamydia, Mycoplasma etc.) or parasites (Trichomonas vaginalis) are transmitted sexually. Sexually transmitted infections require treatment of both partners. You may want to request microbiological examination of the vaginal smear to identify the precise infective agent and to choose proper antibiotic for you and for your partner if necessary.
