Hi, my name is Savannah, and I have mild C.P (walking un-aided but with notice, having to use a laptop with my school work, but still ledgible if I go slow) I am 15 years old.

My sister is going to Med school ,and she told me that one of her proffesors was talking about a drug called Balcofen, and said it had amazing results, I was wondering if anybody had tried it?

My brother has severe cerebral palsey and he has baclofen (a regular dosage baclofen pack inside his back actually). It works wonders. It's a muscle relaxer basically and makes him go all soft and floppy cos he gets really tense and in pain from it; the baclofen softens his muscles and stops the pain Unfortunately it's very very sugary and so can be bad for your teeth, but thats mostly cos my bro can't brush his and we struggle to do it for him, so he had a pack in his body that releases automatic dosages when he needs relaxing. Its very good.

Hi, can anyone tell me if you need to give the same dose of Baclofen each dosage time to maintain a build up in the system, as on a relaxed day we give him a reduced dose but then the day after he's stiff and agitated, could the reduced Baclofen dose be the reason why??

From what i recall..

Baclofen builds up in the system so giving a higher dose and a lower dose depending on how your son is will probably not make much difference.

to the OP.
Its is basically a muscle relaxant, if your problems with walking and fine motor control are due to high tone then it may help you. Its best to speak to your doctor about it.

Best of luck.
