I need back surgery for 2 herniated discs in my lower back. I've heard that Hospital for Special Surgery has the lowest infection rates of all hospitals in NYC. Has anyone had back surgery at HSS? And if so, can they recommend a surgeon? Also, please pass along any information about infection rates in NYC Hospitals if you have. And would you use a neurosurgeon or spine surgeon to do the surgery. I know both kinds of doctors do the surgery, just wondering if one is more qualified than the other. Thanks!!
