Oh, my, Carrie, I never saw this post until now.
Yes I had surgery on June 25, 2008.
Surgery went well, but rehab was much longer than I had expected and more painful recovery. Twice as much done this time as last time, but no fusion was done.
WAS back on my feet and fine. Just remind me not to have my daughter drive me anywhere again, please.
I love her dearly, but the poor girl, (she's approaching late 20's so not really a girl, but a wonderful women), is a magnet for cars coming after her, crashing into her and forcing her to stop short.
So much for wonderful outcome from surgery.
She had to slam on the brakes as the idiot driver cut her off as he went through a red light.
Pulling on the seatbelt on me, had me go forward, even though she didn't hit anything. She had full control of the car.
The disc below the level that had surgery, was not a happy camper and made it known within 24 hours how angry it is.
I now have a bulging disc at the L4/L5 as I type this. This happened in Nov.
Problem is, some of the symptoms are what one might expect from the L3/L4 as well.
Have had to nerve blocks. 1 on both sides of the L4/L5, which relieved pain for several days and 1 on both sides to the L3/L4 which really didn't do much of anything to relieve pain.
I was supposed to have a transforaminal ESI done on Jan 26th, but had to cancel it because I had a terrible cold and just can't seem to shake it or the congested cough.
I think the high dose of steroids used for the nerve blocks lowered my resistance and I'm having trouble getting rid of the cold because of it.
Heading to the doctor this week about this cold and cough. Doesn't feel good on the back either.
Am hoping this will be the last test to determine what type of surgery I will have to have for this one.
Hope just microdisectomy, but it is possible that I will now need a fusion. have my fingers crossed.
Miss seeing you post over hear.
Will let you know how things go and sorry I didn't see this post for so very long.
Now I have to find out where you do post? Gonna give me a clue?
