Good Morning everyone!

I am experiencing extreme pain and stiffness in my upper, left shoulder/back area - I'm working on week 3 with this pain.

I had a very bad cough for just over 3 weeks, and when the pain first started I assumed it was muscle related and would clear up once my cough had gone. Well, the cough has been gone for 2 weeks but the pain remains and seems to have gotten worse.

It hurts to breath, it hurts to move, it REALLY hurts if I sneeze.

I am having trouble sleeping as I tend to switch positions a lot and each time I do - you guessed it, it hurts which keeps me up Wink

I am a 22 year old female in good health. No other issues - so I'm wondering why it is taking so long for this pain to clear up. Could it be more than just muscle pain from coughing?

Thanks in advance Smile

I was researching coughing for my husband and came across your post. I had very bad coughing this past May. It was sooooo bad, I pinched a nerve in my back and had extreme pain in my back and left arm. It finally went away. Now my husband has had a bad cough for a few weeks and we (MD agrees)think it resulted in minute traces of blood in his urine and also broken vessels on top of his head.
Forget a cure for the common cold...how about a cure for coughing!
