I am 23 and in pretty good shape, I was doing kung fu for 5 years and part of the warm up was sit ups (we had out feet flat on the ground and hands going up and down our legs) after a while if i did any sit ups i would be fine but the day after i had jolting back pain where i could barely move, if i lift heavy objects incorrectly it usually hurts my back for a couple of days but now since i stopped doing the exercises my back is more or less ok.

I want to make my stomach muscles stronger (and back) can any tell me what exactly is unbalanced that causes this? I get a strong jolting pain like im being stabbed.

Extremely eHealthy
Sounds like you need to see a spine specialist and get a complete evaluation of what is going on with your spine.
Your symptoms that you describe sound like something is amiss with your spine and the exercises are causing a problem.

There are many possibilities that could be going on and it's best that you see a spine specialist instead of speculating on what they could be.

You need to see either an orthopedic surgeon that specializes in spines or a neurosurgeon that specializes in spines.

You will probably need both general spinal e-rays and an MRI to start with and then see what the spine specialist diagnosis is and what treatment is suggested.

Good luck
