Q: back pain after hit & run

Hi, I am a 23 yr old male from South Africa. I am currently suffering from various back problems that I think are related to a hit & run that I was involved in in 1995.

My hips are misaligned (I believe from being hit by the vehicle on my left hip/side) and due to this I walk off-balance. My left leg appears to be 2in shorter than my right however you can easily see the hip misalignment.

My question is, without expensive surgery or treatment (finances are a HUGE problem) is there any way that i can relieve this pain? My lower back is so swollen that it feels hard on either side of the spine (which seems as if its' twisted somewhat) and I suffer from an arched thoracic vertebrae (if that is a term) I struggle to straighten my spine (even when lying flat on my back).

I have intermittant sharp pains in the right of my neck, my hips sometimes feel as though there is a pinched nerve in the joint. To whine a bit more... My right shoulder movement has gradually become more limited.

I understand that it is difficult to help without seeing the person or consulting but i cannot afford a consultation with a specialist or GP and this is extremely excrutiating (I sleep on a hot water bottle every night & apply Arnica oil - which gives relief but never solves the problem)

Thanks in advance

Hello Daniel,

Welcome to this forum!!!

Very sorry to read about the pain and suffering that you are in.

I understand the difficulty you have regarding finances. May I suggest that you speak with your doctor and see if he/she is willing to work out a financial arrangement that is acceptable to both of you. Daniel, you do need medical attention. Your pain most likely will not get better unless a doctor can help you.

I wish you the best. My thoughts and prayers are with you.
