Q: Back and scalp acne cause

I have been getting really bad back acne for about a year now and I am starting to get alot of pimples on my scalp. I have never had a problem with pimples, in fact I think I may have had 3 or 4 in my whole life and they were on my face but, my back is covered in them now and they are more so on my spine and a few on the scalp. Does anyone know what might be causing this???
